Location: Usher - Confessions Pt II
Location: The Manor LDN Dance Studio, Finsbury Park, North London
Some songs are so ingrained in music history that you know them before the first chorus arrives. Usher’s Confessions, Pt. II is one of them. Released in 2004 as part of his fourth studio album Confessions, the R&B classic became one of the defining tracks of the era, built around a dramatic story of infidelity, guilt and an impossible confession.
For this class at The Manor LDN, Kelsey ‘Hydro’ Miller and Ian Harris brought two different movement backgrounds into the same room. Kelsey’s training spans Hip Hop, Popping, Krump, House, Breaking, Afro and Dancehall, alongside his work with Boy Blue and his own collective, Hydrogen. Ian Harris began dancing at six, training across freestyle disco, jazz, ballet, contemporary and Hip Hop before developing an international career as a performer, choreographer and teacher. His performance credits include Bebe Rexha, Rudimental, Jack & Jack, Sam Ryder and Rita Ora, as well as appearances on The X Factor and Eurovision.
Together, Kelsey and Ian reinterpret Usher’s Confessions, Pt. II through their own movement languages, using the track’s rhythm and emotional weight as the foundation for the choreography. Filmed at The Manor LDN in Finsbury Park, the class brings together two choreographers with different training backgrounds and a shared focus on musicality, performance and storytelling.
