CHOREOGRAPHY BY NEAL PIRON
ARTIST: RAYE - FIVE STAR HOTEL
LOCATION: THE MANOR LDN DANCE STUDIO, FINSBURY PARK, NORTH LONDON
Neal Piron’s movement has never belonged to just one category. Born in Aalst, Belgium, Neal trained across street dance styles including Hip Hop, House, Popping, Locking and Afrobeats, developing the versatility that now sits at the centre of his work as a professional dancer and choreographer.
That versatility has taken him well beyond the dance studio. Neal has worked across film and television, with screen credits including Aladdin, Mood, Wicked and Wicked: For Good. Alongside performing, he has built a reputation as a teacher and choreographer, bringing the same dynamic, multi-style approach into workshops and studios internationally.
At The Manor LDN, Neal teaches across Street Fusion and Jazz Funk, two styles that reflect the breadth of his movement background. His work is rooted in street dance, but constantly evolves through musicality, performance and the ability to move between different textures and qualities.
For this choreography, Neal turns to RAYE’s “Five Star Hotels. (feat. Mahalia)”, from her debut album My 21st Century Blues. Released in 2023, the track pairs RAYE and Mahalia over a smooth, R&B-influenced production, with RAYE describing its creation as a way of exploring confidence, sexuality and feeling empowered through music.
It is a track with space to play with texture, rhythm and performance — exactly the kind of space where Neal’s versatility comes alive.
