CHOREOGRAPHY BY JOSHUA PILMORE

ARTIST: DUA LIPA - TRAINING SEASON

LOCATION: THE MANOR LDN DANCE STUDIO, FINSBURY PARK, NORTH LONDON

Joshua Pilmore has built his career around making movement impossible to ignore. Based in London, the choreographer and educator is known for his distinctive full-out style of Commercial Dance — combining power, precision, musicality and performance into choreography that demands commitment from the dancer. At The Manor LDN, that philosophy is at the centre of his classes.

That career has taken Joshua across some of the biggest spaces in the industry. His credits include work with artists including Rina Sawayama, Bebe Rexha, Ashnikko and Kimberly Wyatt, alongside Coachella, Glastonbury, The Graham Norton Show, Vogue and Samsung. His work spans world tours, music videos, festivals, television and major brand campaigns, giving him a perspective that reaches far beyond the dance studio.

Teaching has become an equally important part of Joshua’s creative practice. He has taught across major UK dance platforms while continuing to develop his own commercial style — one built around performance, power and characterisation. His approach is about understanding how movement needs to read when it leaves the studio and reaches a stage, screen or audience.

For Dua Lipa’s “Training Season”, Joshua brings that performance-first instinct into the room. Released in 2024 as part of Radical Optimism, the track carries the album’s dancefloor energy into a piece that allows Joshua to put his own full-out commercial language onto the music.
