The Man Behind Janet Jackson's Most Iconic Moves

Choreography by Gil Duldulao

The Manor LDN was thrilled to welcome Gil Duldulao — the legendary choreographer behind some of Janet Jackson's most iconic routines — as part of the studio's ongoing Janet Jackson Series. Born in Hawaii, Duldulao began training in hip-hop before expanding into jazz and ballet, eventually moving to Los Angeles to pursue dance professionally. That foundation grew into a long-standing creative partnership with Janet Jackson, one of the defining choreographer-artist relationships in modern pop.

Over the course of his career, Duldulao has worked with some of the biggest names in music, including Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Demi Lovato, Tina Turner, Britney Spears, and Ricky Martin. But it's his role in shaping Janet Jackson's signature style that defines this particular class — the choreography he taught at The Manor LDN wasn't a reinterpretation, it was original material that has directly defined her performances and influenced dancers worldwide. For a masterclass built around commercial choreography, learning directly from the person who helped create some of pop music's most recognisable routines is about as close to the source as a class can get.
