For Vikki Clark, movement has never existed in just one world. Her career spans jazz, commercial dance, theatre and choreography, with a creative practice that moves between performance and the process of creating work itself. She is also part of the teaching faculty at London Studio Centre, where she works across Jazz, Commercial Dance and Tap.

That versatility can be seen throughout her work. Vikki has contributed to Everland, ZooNation Youth Company’s production created for the Royal Opera House’s Next Generation Festival, as both a contributing choreographer and creative assistant. Her work has also included A Conversation with Alicia Keys, created with London Studio Centre.

It is that understanding of performance that makes Vikki’s approach to choreography so compelling. There is an emphasis not just on getting through the steps, but on how movement lands — musicality, detail, character and the connection between technique and performance.

For The Manor Series, Vikki brought that perspective into the studio, working with dancers through choreography set to Justin Timberlake’s “Let The Groove Get In”. The track’s unmistakable groove creates the perfect space for musicality and performance, allowing the choreography to move between precision and freedom.
