There is a particular kind of precision to Toby WR’s movement. Rather than relying on big moments for impact, his choreography finds its strength in the details — the changes in texture, the musical accents, the control between movements and the intention behind every choice. His style draws from hip-hop and contemporary influences, creating choreography that feels both technically considered and deeply connected to the music.

As a UK-based dancer, choreographer and teacher, Toby has developed a reputation for movement that is sharp without losing its sense of feeling. His work is rooted in musicality and storytelling, with a focus on how movement can respond to sound rather than simply sit on top of it. That approach has seen him work across performance, choreography and teaching, including alongside some of the UK’s leading choreographic talent. He has also appeared as a dancer in KUN’s “What A Day”, alongside a cast including Hana Morris, Millie Lund, Tyresse Hare and others.

Teaching is a major part of Toby’s creative practice. His classes give dancers the space to work beyond simply getting the choreography right, encouraging them to understand the rhythm, texture and intention within the movement. It is an approach that reflects the detail-focused quality running through his work.
