CHOREOGRAPHY BY LOLA BECKERS
ARTIST: SEAN PAUL & KEYSHIA COLE - GIVE IT UP TO ME
LOCATION: THE MANOR LDN DANCE STUDIO, FINSBURY PARK, NORTH LONDON
For Lola Beckers, the transition from performer to creator happened gradually. A Dutch dancer, choreographer and movement director, Lola trained in Contemporary/Urban Dance at Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts before building her professional career as a dancer. Her early work took her onto stages and screens alongside artists including M.I.A., Kylie Minogue and Ed Sheeran, as well as into campaigns for brands including Nike, Adidas, SKIMS and Stella McCartney.
But over time, performing became only part of the picture. Lola realised that her passion for creating and storytelling through movement and music was just as strong as her love of being in front of the camera. That shift has seen her develop into a choreographer and creative director, creating work for artists including LE SSERAFIM, Bad Gyal, Tate McRae and Zara Larsson. Her choreography for Zara’s “Lush Life” became one of her recognised viral dance moments.
That dual perspective — understanding movement both as a performer and as a creator — is central to Lola’s work. Her choreography is rooted in musicality and storytelling, while her experience across fashion, film and commercial dance gives her an instinct for the visual world surrounding the movement. As she continues to move further into choreography and direction, Lola is building a creative lane that feels distinctly her own.
At The Manor LDN, Lola brings that perspective to Sean Paul and Keyshia Cole’s “Give It Up to Me”. The choreography taps into the track’s rhythm and attitude while giving dancers space to explore Lola’s expressive, musical approach to movement.
