CHOREOGRAPHY BY GUERO CHARLES
ARTIST: PINKPANTHERESS - TONIGHT
LOCATION: THE MANOR LDN DANCE STUDIO, FINSBURY PARK, NORTH LONDON
Guero Charles’ route into professional dance was anything but conventional. Growing up in Houston, he spent his early years focused on baseball before discovering dance as a teenager. After watching You Got Served, something clicked. He began training in Latin dance, specifically salsa, before becoming increasingly drawn to hip hop and eventually making the decision to pursue dance professionally.
In 2012, Guero joined the cast of Monsters of Hip Hop — an opportunity that connected him with some of the industry's leading choreographers and helped inspire his move from Houston to Los Angeles. Since then, his career has taken him onto stages alongside Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Jackson, Rihanna, Demi Lovato, Tate McRae and the Backstreet Boys. His credits include Rihanna’s Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show, Janet Jackson’s Together Again Tour and Tate McRae’s “2 Hands” music video.
But Guero’s story has never been only about the biggest credits. His journey has been shaped by curiosity, versatility and a willingness to step into unfamiliar territory — from salsa to commercial hip hop, from performing to choreography, and from Houston studios to some of the biggest stages in the world. He now passes that experience on through teaching, helping dancers understand the performance and musicality behind the movement.
At The Manor LDN, Guero brings that experience to PinkPantheress’ “Tonight”. The choreography plays with musicality, texture and performance, giving dancers the chance to experience the movement language of an artist whose own career began with simply taking a chance on dance.
