DANCE // OFFLINE 2025: Kelsey ‘Hydro’ Miller: Keeping Hip Hop Moving Forward

Hydrogen was built around a simple idea: the future of Hip Hop depends on understanding where it came from. Founded by Kelsey ‘Hydro’ Miller in 2021, the collective was created to give younger dancers access to a rich and varied training experience while keeping the foundations and culture of Hip Hop at the centre.

For Miller, that mission comes from experience. A London-based artist deeply rooted in Hip Hop theatre, his own movement vocabulary stretches across Hip Hop foundations, Krump, House, Popping, Breaking, Afro, Dancehall, Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz Funk, Tutting and Waving. Hydrogen became a way of taking that breadth of knowledge and passing it forward.

The collective has grown from training into performance and creation. In 2024, Hydrogen presented its first showcase at The Manor LDN, bringing 70 dancers together for an evening of conceptual and commercial choreography alongside guest artists including Boy Blue, Kyron Jake, Tribeways and The Plan. The sold-out showcase marked a significant moment for the collective and its growing community.

That same spirit reached the stage at DANCE // OFFLINE 2025, when Hydrogen became part of The Manor LDN’s first major live edition at Indigo at The O2 on 28 September. Alongside more than 30 choreographers and performers, the collective represented exactly what OFFLINE was created for: bringing dance out of the scroll and back into a room where people can experience it together.
