Since its foundation in 2001, Boy Blue has been exploring what happens when Hip Hop is given the space to become something bigger. Co-founded by choreographer Kenrick ‘H2O’ Sandy MBE and composer Michael ‘Mikey J’ Asante, the London-based company has developed a distinctive approach to dance theatre — one where movement, music, character and storytelling exist side by side.

That approach has shaped some of Boy Blue’s most celebrated work. From the Olivier Award-winning Pied Piper: A Hip-Hop Dance Revolution to Blak Whyte Gray, REDD, Outliers and Cycles, the company has continued to push Hip Hop into new theatrical spaces without losing sight of the culture and foundations it comes from. Kenrick’s wider work has also included the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony, while Boy Blue has developed an international reputation for its live productions.

For DANCE // OFFLINE 2026, that world came into the room at Indigo at The O2. The Manor’s second edition of the live showcase brought Boy Blue into a programme built around choreography, artistry, community and the energy of experiencing dance in person — continuing The Manor’s wider idea that dance deserves to exist beyond a screen.

Choreographed by Kenrick ‘H2O’ Sandy and Boy Blue, the piece captures what makes their work distinctive: Hip Hop that is not simply performed, but used to communicate. It is movement with character, rhythm with intention and choreography that asks the audience to watch, listen and feel the story.
