Mirch Haus Vol. 1: The Manor LDN Featured in 8 Magazine

Celebrating the showcase that brought South Asian dance, culture and community together at The Manor LDN, as featured in 8 Magazine.

A dance showcase can be more than a series of performances. It can bring different generations together, create space for cultural expression and connect artists across disciplines.

That was the idea behind Mirch Haus Vol. 1, the first event by London-based Bollywood choreographer Divya Nebel, hosted at The Manor LDN on 4 July 2026. In its feature, 8 Magazine explores how the event brought together South Asian artists across dance, music and spoken word, celebrating heritage while making room for contemporary interpretations of culture.

For The Manor, it was an example of how a studio space can become a stage for something bigger: a shared creative experience shaped by the people in the room.

A Showcase Beyond Dance

Mirch Haus was created by Divya to explore the relationship between her Indian heritage and German background, building a platform for artists and audiences who exist between cultures and identities.

The first volume brought together a diverse programme of performers, moving between traditional bhangra, Bollywood, bollyfusion, heels, hip hop, spoken word and live music.

The evening also invited audiences to take part, with an interactive garba workshop led by Bhagat Thakur. Rather than keeping performers and spectators separate, the experience encouraged everyone in the room to become part of the event.

As 8 Magazine explores, Mirch Haus was designed to be more than a dance show. It was an opportunity to honour tradition while exploring new forms of expression, bringing different artistic voices into one shared space.

A Space for Showcases, Collaboration and Community

At The Manor LDN, our studios are home to more than classes and rehearsals. They also provide a setting for showcases, workshops, creative productions and events that bring people together through movement and performance.

Projects such as Mirch Haus demonstrate the possibilities of using a dance space in different ways. A studio can become a performance venue, a place to test new creative ideas, or a meeting point for artists working across dance, theatre, music and other disciplines.

We love seeing the space used to bring ambitious ideas to life, particularly when those projects create opportunities for artists to collaborate, share their work and connect with new audiences.

Bringing Your Creative Vision to Life

Located in Finsbury Park, North London, The Manor LDN offers a range of studios available for hire, supporting projects from rehearsals and workshops to showcases, filming and creative events.

Whether you're developing a new performance, organising a community gathering or bringing together artists from different disciplines, the right space can help turn an idea into a live experience.

Mirch Haus Vol. 1 is one example of what can happen when a creative vision meets a space that allows it to grow. We look forward to seeing more artists use The Manor to experiment, collaborate and bring their ideas to an audience.
