Jemima Gillespie: The Choreographer Behind The Manor LDN’s Sold-Out Jazz Classes

From Melbourne to London’s jazz dance scene, Jemima Gillespie has built a career around her love of performance. Now, the dancer and choreographer is making her mark on London’s dance community, with her classes at The Manor LDN regularly selling out.

In August, 8 Magazine featured Jemima in its Trailblazer series, exploring her journey from Australia to London, her experience as a performer and the beginnings of her career as a choreographer.

From Melbourne to the London Stage

Jemima knew she wanted to dance from the age of three, growing up watching her cousins and siblings perform on stage. What began as a childhood ambition has since developed into a professional career spanning live performance, touring productions and choreography.

Before moving to London, Jemima worked across cruise productions with Royal Caribbean, Norwegian and Holland America Line, performing for audiences around the world. Her experience also includes performing for Frank Stallone and appearing at the Billboard Music Awards.

Her move to London opened up a new chapter. After an intensive in the South of France, she relocated to pursue further opportunities, going on to perform in a cabaret production at Park Chinois before joining Speakeasy, the touring show featuring Strictly Come Dancing professionals Karen Hauer and Gorka Márquez.

The Manor LDN: Home to Jemima's Sold-Out Classes

As 8 Magazine highlights in its Trailblazer feature, Jemima now regularly teaches sold-out classes at The Manor LDN.

Her growing following reflects the connection she's building with dancers through her choreography and teaching. For Jemima, the goal extends beyond teaching combinations; she wants dancers to leave class feeling good about themselves, with greater confidence in their own performance.

At The Manor, dancers have the opportunity to train with working professionals like Jemima, exploring different styles and approaches to movement in a studio shaped by London's wider dance community.

We're proud to have Jemima as part of our faculty and to see her work recognised by 8 Magazine.
