CHOREOGRAPHY BY SHIVAWN JOUBERT
ARTIST: SEAN PAUL, LIL JOHN - SNAP YO FINGERS
LOCATION: THE MANOR LDN DANCE STUDIO, FINSBURY PARK, NORTH LONDON
Shivawn Joubert’s dance journey began in Cape Town before her family moved to Australia, where she started dancing at just three years old. Her early training spanned ballet, lyrical and jazz before she found her place in Hip Hop and commercial dance, developing a style that combines commercial movement with femininity and razor-sharp precision.
By sixteen, Shivawn had already landed her first major professional opportunity with the Young Talent Time tour. From there, her career grew across television, live performance and music videos, including work with Beyoncé, Rihanna, Dua Lipa and Sam Smith, as well as appearances on X Factor and Australia’s Got Talent. She also became a recurring performer with Marko Panzic’s Dream Dance Company.
But performance has never been the end point for Shivawn. She has continued to expand her artistry through teaching and choreography, bringing the same attention to detail and commitment to performance into the studio. Her work has also extended into choreography, including additional choreography on FKA twigs’ Perfect Stranger.
For this choreography, Shivawn takes on “Snap Yo Fingers” by Lil Jon featuring E-40 and Sean Paul. Released in 2006, the Southern hip-hop and crunk track is built around a simple, infectious rhythm and an invitation to move — making it the perfect playground for Shivawn’s combination of attitude, precision and performance.
At The Manor LDN, Shivawn brings that experience into the room, encouraging dancers to find the confidence to fully own their movement.
