Sattva Ninja

Coming from Hamburg and now based in London, Sattva (they) is a Vietnamese, Germany-born choreographer, movement director and Ballroom advisor, internationally sought-after for their work as a movement artist and educator. Their artistic signature lies in a highly distinctive movement language across the categories New Way and Arms Control.
Featured in Season 1 of HBO Max’s LEGENDARY as Sattva Ninja , their artistry is rooted in the transformation of movement into illusionary geometry and dreamlike imagery, transporting audiences into an immersive world shaped by their unique physicality, musicality and relationship to space.

Over nearly 15 years, Sattva has made a lasting impact on Ballroom culture across 25 countries worldwide. They are a certified Double Legend in the Kiki scene, an Up & Coming Legend in the Mainstream scene, the first Asian Mother of the Iconic House of Ninja, and a recipient of one of the first-ever German Staple Awards in Ballroom history.
Their impact on new generations extends through their work as a parent, mentor, teacher and founder of THE NEW WAY PROJECT platform, while their movement signature — magically elastic, feminine and unmistakably their own — simultaneously expands what is possible within their categories, leaving an enduring influence on generations past and present.

Beyond Ballroom, their creative reach spans music, fashion, film, and performance, with work and collaborations including Coldplay, Megan Thee Stallion, Janelle Monáe, RAYE, Christian Louboutin during Paris Fashion Week, LỰU ĐẠN, Saul Nash, Julia Clancey, Campbell Addy, Netflix, Sadler’s Wells, VERVE, Red Bull and Mercedes-Benz.

Most recently, they choreographed and served as Ballroom advisor for FKA twigs’ EUSEXUA World Tour 2025.
